Martin Jumbam holds a bilingual (English/French) degree from the University of Yaounde, Cameroon, a diploma in Spanish studies from La Universidad Complùtense in Madrid, Spain, a Maîtrise en littérature comparée from La Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris 3; a diploma in translation/interpretation from Georgetown University in Washington DC, and a Master’s Degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. He worked for over 20 years for an American oil company, Pecten Cameroon, in the port city of Douala, Cameroon, before serving for four years as the general manager of La Maison Catholique de la Communication Sociale (MACACOS), the Catholic Media House of the Archdiocese of Douala. 

He is the author of My Conversion Journey with Christian Cardinal Tumi (Langaa Publishing, 2014), Beads of Memory (Spears Books, 2020), and co-author of My Night in Captivity (Spears Books 2021), a memoir by Christian Cardinal Wiyghan Tumi that details his one-night ordeal in the hands of separatist forces in Ndop in the restive North West region of Cameroon in 2019. He lives in Douala and works as a freelance translator, conference interpreter, journalist and motivational speaker.
