Christ’s School does not Cheat!

’Tunde Adeparusi

A school that builds on honesty and integrity
Will impact knowledge with pure intent,
Where success is earned, and bad behaviour punished.
Cheating holds no place in an atmosphere of wisdom.

A school that nurtures young minds in their prime
Will make the light scare away darkness from every corner,
Giving no room for any form of indiscipline or crime.
A sanctuary of knowledge so broad, pure, and perfect.

A school where students are smart, spick and span
Will always maintain a place amongst the mountains,
No shortcuts taken; no corners cut!
The only son of Dallimore makes his dad proud!

In the year 1933, the dark night was illuminated,
An only child was born, never to experience the death
Of life, of integrity, of character and, of knowledge!
The success of all his children is the rhythm of his heartbeat.

A child held in high esteem by all and sundry does not cheat.
A child, rich in history of academics, and moral excellence does not cheat.
A child named after Christ, whose call is Grace and Truth, does not cheat.
Let it be known to all, Christ’s school does not cheat!

Inspired by my article titled, “Christ’s School does not cheat” which was published in the national dailies in 1992 when our school’s WAEC results were withheld. Shortly after the publication, all the results were released, and our principal, the late Chief Olusola Bayode, cut out my newspaper article and pinned it on a board in his office.
