Amin Alhassan (PhD) is an Associate Professor at the University for Development Studies, (UDS) Tamale, Ghana. He was the founding dean of the Faculty of Agribusiness and Communication Sciences and served from 2012 to 2018. He is now the Principal of the Wa Campus of UDS. Prof. Alhassan completed his PhD in Communication at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada and has taught at Tampere University, Finland, McGill University, Montreal and York University in Toronto prior his appointment at UDS.
His research interests include; Development Communication, Agricultural Extension and Agribusiness. He is the author of Development communication policy and economic fundamentalism in Ghana, Tampere University Press 2004 and co-editor of Agriculture in Ghana today: Some critical topics for policy making, APSP/FACS 2018.
