Shogo Kudo is an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Program in Sustainability Science – Global Leadership Initiative (GPSS-GLI), Graduate School of Frontier Sciences (GSFS) at the University of Tokyo. He holds a PhD in Sustainability Science and specializes in rural sustainability. His research examines the socioeconomic impacts of aging and declining population in rural communities. His research projects include AkitaAgeLab, a platform to promote place-making initiatives that targets aging challenges.
One of the main activities of AkitaAgeLab is to organize workshops with residents to collectively envision the future state of rural society. He is also active in promoting sustainability science in higher education through teaching courses in both graduate and undergraduate levels.
