Dr. Gomia is a professor of World Literature at the Department of Languages and Literatures, Delaware State University. His current research interests include popular literature as utilitarian literature in post-colonial settings as well as globalization and literature. The latter inspired a project that resulted in Re-Writing Pasts, Imagining Futures: Critical Explorations of Contemporary African Fiction and Theater, a volume he co-edited with Gilbert Shang of Bayreuth University.
His most recent journal articles were on Bole Butake and Ngugi Wa Thiongo. His most recent awards were from Delaware Humanities Forum (DHF) and Howard University’s Center for African Studies. Dr. Gomia was the most recent recipient of Delaware State University’s Languages and Literatures Department Research and Publication award.
