Spears Books is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Beyond the Tribal Cocoon, authored by the distinguished scholar, Professor Emmanuel Yenshu Vubo. The book is officially scheduled for release on August 21, 2026.

Beyond the Tribal Cocoon is a collection of works on cross-cultural relations that argues that the affirmed differences between identity groups collapse when confronted with evidence of common modes of existence that cut across cultural boundaries. It is therefore imperative to go beyond the apparently impregnable boundaries of these entities to observe the universality within the construction of ethnic difference(s). Inspired by the foundational principles of structural anthropology and drawing on the key areas of the imaginary, kinship, and associational life, the book proposes a framework, epistemology, and methodology for understanding the common experiences that unite rather than divide peoples across ethnic boundaries. The evidence from the south-western quadrant of Cameroon offers pointers to what can be observed within the African continent and beyond.

Mark your calendars for August 21, 2026, to explore this essential framework for understanding human universality.
